Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Rebecca
Wang Join Forces to Bring Vital Aid to those in Need
(Overland Park, KS) – Catholic Charities of Northeast
Kansas (CCNEK) is living up to its mission of putting love into action by
continuing to welcoming the stranger. This year, the agency is on pace to feed over 200,000 people, assist over 3,000
people in finding or sustaining permanent housing and keeping the utilities on
for over 5,000 people.
Recently, CCNEK received a generous
donation from executive producer and entrepreneur Rebecca Wang. She has given a
sizeable collection of brand new, high-quality clothing, which CCNEK can use in
their efforts to stabilize and strengthen the lives of many suffering from
economic barriers. CCNEK is delighted to work with Wang, who has demonstrated a
strong commitment to helping those in need through a wide variety of charities
and endeavours.
Said Rebecca Wang of the work CCNEK has
done so far: “I am immensely proud to contribute to such an open-minded,
compassionate organization as Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. I feel
that I share in their values of community service, education, and protecting
those in need.”
“We are humbled by the generous contribution received from Rebecca Wang,”
said Ken Williams, CEO, Catholic
Charities of Northeast Kansas. Rebecca Wang’s donation, he added, will augment
the agency's ability to resettle refugees and provide them with housing, basic
necessities, education, and training which are all vital in supporting refugees
on their pathway to self-sufficiency.
